Our New Website
Several reasons why we have upgraded our website; firstly we wanted to separate our decorative items from our antiques leaving, in Rodgers words, 'just the cream!'. Plus, the software that ran our old website had become a 'relic' itself and was lacking performance in the search engines and was too restrictive when it came to displaying our products properly. And lastly, the reason it has been almost compulsory to update the site appeared on our radar last year when we finally saw the essential tightening up of online trading laws, instantly outdating our old system, that encrypted payment information. So, we were put in a position where we had to decide on whether to give up completely on being an online shop or to sink back to being a just gallery and catalogue. It was a tough decision, a catalogue would be much simpler as well as low risk and maintenance, after all, we have learnt over the years that marine antiques and decor are not very mail-order friendly. Eventually we realised that the advantages outweighed the negatives and we chose for the more difficult option of attempting to successfully e-commerce our this beautiful gear, making it avaialble to the masses, in our bid to be the Worlds most popular Marine Antiques Shop.
Ordering from outside UK
At this time, customers living outside of the UK cannot create an account and purchase direct through the website. This is because there is no way that we can leave it to a computer to calculate the shipping of items to outside the UK without problems calculating multiple, mixed-material, consignments and at the same time getting you, the customer, the most competitive rate. In our experience, marine antiques and decor are usually, large and bulky items and not very 'add to basket' friendly, hence our product upload policy of, 'if in doubt, turn it to enquire'.
So, as in most cases, if the website cannot calculate freight to your country, you must fill in an enquiry on the item or items you are interested in, or telephone us direct to purchase.
For purchase enquiries e-mail us at: contact@trinitymarine.co.uk
or call us on: 0044 (0) 1647 253400
By tolerating the inability to purchase direct through our website you are gaining by allowing us to find the best possible freight quote for you. More work for us for sure, but a greater number of satisfied customers.
VAT
Unlike most antique dealers on the 'special scheme' we are VAT registered and have to charge VAT on all our goods that VAT applies to. Customers from outside the EU DO NOT have to pay the VAT. Businesses that can provide relevant tax credentials will receive a VAT invoice. Boat or Ship builders or renovators that can supply the relevant VAT exemption certificates also qualify for VAT er, exemptions!
The Enquire Button
You will notice on your trip around our website that many of the items have an Enquiry button rather than an add to basket, this could be for one or more reasons;
More often than not it is because an item is large, heavy and difficult to send and the shipping being indeterminable until we know where it is going.
As we come to trust our freight calculator more we will be making more items capable of being added to a basket and shipped instantaneously. Calculating the cost of freight to other countries around the World is something that we prefer to do ourselves rather than let the computer calculate it ensuring you the lowest cost of freight possible.
Put briefly this means;
If the website cannot calculate freight to your country, as in most cases, you are unable to create an account to purchase items so MUST, therefore, fill in an enquiry on the item or items you are interested in or telephone us direct to purchase.
Private Collectors From the compulsive to the most selective, from the exhibitionist to the most discreet of collectors, all needs can be successfully catered for. Collectors from all around the World rely on us to find them the rare, unique and most importantly genuine marine antiques. We can also work on commission to acquire and appraise any antiques you are interested in us seeking out.
Wholesale & Trade
Trinity Marine's trade and wholesale department was established in 1990 and since then we have supplied to retail shops, restaurants and bars, antique dealers, creative design agencies, interior designers, theatres, TV and Film production companies, advertising and promotional agencies, exhibition and events companies and book publishers across the UK, Europe, USA and beyond.
What tends to satisfy our customers the most about our stock is not not only its depth and available quantities but the low prices that follow as a consequence.
For trade/wholesale enquiries e-mail us at: contact@trinitymarine.co.uk

Shipping and Freight
Apart from small packages the most common way we send goods out are via a pallet freight company.
1 x box/case the size of 120 x 100 x 180cm on a pallet can be tail-lifted to the pavement of 95% of UK postcodes for as little as £65+vat.
European pallet prices are also very reasonable considering the cost of shipping these days.
The only function this website, or any for that matter, cannot do accurately is to calculate the price of freight and shipping to countries outside of the UK.
