We have just had these 'Trench Binoculars', known by the British Army as 'Donkey Ears', professionally polished and mounted. They were never used and therefore released as surplus.
They are all in great condition, and include all the lens and bits that come with them! These were used in the trenches or behind trees giving infantrymen maximum cover.
The optics are fantastic and on a stand they make a very nice pair of binoculars. On the base of the pair there is stamped the Patt no's the makers mark and the date. These sets are dated 1945 and some are 1944 and have been out of the box only a couple of times since!
Mounted on an adjustable aluminium tripod , these really look fabulous. Rotating and adjustable sights, inc in the box are spare lens and the sunshades for the lens.
Box marked up with Peri Bty Comd V5 MoD MK1.
The sights fit back into the box and the tripod collapses down.
