Bronze Cannon - From Wreck tVliegent Hart 1735

The cannon was recovered from the wreck of the Dutch East Indiaman tVliegent Hart which sank with the loss off the coast of Zeeland on her voyage from Holland to Batavia in the East Indies on the 3rd Feb. 1735. She was carrying
A cargo, which included building materials, iron, gunpowder and other
Merchandise and gold and silver money for trading in the East.

The displacement of tVliegent Hart was approx. 850tonnes, her length was 145ft, and she was armed with about 42 guns. The vessels remains were
discovered by a diving team in 1981 after three years of exploration.
