A HMS Warspite Brass Boiler Plate from the esteemed Ferrers-Walker collection that was once on display at the National Museum of the Royal Navy in Portsmouth Dockyard.
HMS Warspite was a Queen Elizabeth-class battleship of the Royal Navy, launched in 1913 and famed as “The Grand Old Lady.” She served in both World Wars, first at Jutland in 1916 where she endured heavy damage but survived. In WWII, she fought at Narvik, Cape Matapan, Crete, and during the D-Day landings, providing vital naval gunfire support. Known for her resilience, she earned more battle honours than any other Royal Navy ship. After the war, she was decommissioned in 1945 and ran aground while being scrapped in 1947, ending her career as one of Britain’s most celebrated warships.
