The commissioned artists included, Laura Smith, Stearney, Terry Allen and John Mattos. The illustrations were then mechanically reproduced in four colours and mounted on cardboard. The SS France was a Compagnie Générale Transatlantique CGT, or French Line ocean liner, constructed by the Chantiers de l’Atlantique shipyard at Saint-Nazaire, France, and put into service in February 1961. SS France was later renamed SS Norway and undertook mostly cruises for Norwegian Cruise Line.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eWe will ship the posters in their original beech wood frames, but not with the very thin glass unless collected. \u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eOne of the other artist John Mattos, in an interview which asked what was the oddest project he had worked on , he said the following ; Signage and Art for Staterooms for the “SS Norway” (Formerly the SS France) Deco Cruise Ship.
