The handsome white dial is enclosed within a heavy polished brass case, with maker’s details beautifully engraved to the bezel.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eThe engraved script around the bezel suggests this is a late 19th century piece the dial though looks to be replaced more recently than that, possibly due to upgraded engines or because the original dial became worn or damaged. \u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eA bell control is incorporated into the casing, further reflecting its specialist shipboard function.
