HMS Hermes (R12) Bulkhead Door

We will list sizes within the next couple of weeks, doors shown in the images are standard examples.. 

We here at Trinity Marine, along with a variety of our customers, have always had a penchant for these iconic doors from the Royal Navy. We had a great, yet very difficult, opportunity to acquire some more of them. Even better; to be able to get them from one of the Royal Navy’s most historic Warships – HMS Hermes.

We painstakingly cut these out of areas all over the ship, having been given only a day to get as many as we could, hence some of the crude edges. Please note, these have served for 57 years and have literally ‘been through the Wars’ so some of them may not be completely watertight anymore and condition is sound, but as you would expect after their long journeying. Inspection is welcome so you can see their full potential.

Cor-ten steel, so they can be sandblasted to be painted, left as raw steel for the rusty look as I have done on my den, or life and patina left intact. See our listing for refurbished HMS Hermes door to see how good these come up.

Along with the door you will receive a Certificate of Authenticity to accompany your investment. Keep that safe as the value of this item will only go up in time.

These items are exclusive to Trinity Marine, as we were the only company that was allowed onboard to salvage significant quantities of artefacts from the Hermes in the same way as we were with other RN carriers we were appointed to, such as; HMS Ark Royal and HMS Vengeance, as well as other ships of the Royal Navy, HMS Cornwall, Plymouth, LLandaff, Fearless to name just a few.

Battleship Deck-Wash Aluminium Bulkhead Light

An icon of Royal Navy lighting, and one of my personal favourite marine lights.

Designed for ‘battle conditions’ in terms of their sturdy build quality, and also that they wash the deck with light whilst not emitting glare horizontally out to sea. In domestic terms this leads to a very elegant and interesting wall light that illuminates your path, stairs or wall with no glare.

Ships that were adorned with these have all gone now sadly, HMS Hermes being the last Ship that we salvaged some from. So we commissioned these exact remakes to be made in short runs by a reputable lighting manufacturer, with no compromise or expense spared.

Cast in thick aluminium and highly polished, they are supplied non-lacquered which will lead to the shine dulling slowly indoors.

This batch are just for indoor use. We are getting these made for outdoor use, we hope they will not take too long, let us know if you are interested.

The light comes supplier with a CE certified E27 bulb holder, and takes a screw in golf ball bulb.

We have taken one of the original HMS Hermes doors, had it cleanly cut, stripped and re-sprayed

The doors are done to order and you will be able to choose which door from the HMS Hermes collection you would like

Refurbished doors are from £1400.00 including VAT depending on original condition
