A Fine Military Campaign Chest – Circa 1913
A superb split teak campaign chest , with two top drawers & three large.
All with locks , and the key is present.
All drawers sit flush, the chest sits on turned attached feet.
Overall it is a very charming campaign chest with expected signs of use
The brass corner brackets and brass straps were used to protect the chest whilst in transit during campaigns.
This campaign chest would have been commissioned for a member of the British Raj or a high-ranking officer in the British Army during the reign of Queen Victoria in colonial India (Calcutta) during the late 19th Century.
