Anglo Indian Rosewood Campaign Chest of Drawers

With locks & key
Smaller in stature than modern day chest of drawers, this being easier to move around and now perfect to fit in to modern day homes.
Constructed with a single piece top, it features the original inset brass drop handles, with brass corner brackets and brass side carrying handles. The drawers are in good working order, they are clean inside and close flush to the frame. Two small top drawers and three larger.
The chest splits into two sections for easy transportation.
British officers of high social position in the Georgian and Victorian periods took it for granted that when they set out on a military campaign in Africa or India they could enjoy the same standard of living as they did at home.
While “under canvas,” as life in camp was called, an officer and a gentleman assured himself a high degree of comfort by using specially designed pieces of campaign, or knock-down, furniture.
