Circa 1860s Scottish Highlander Ship’s Figurehead

An attractive male three quarter carving in the form of a Scottish Highlander Circa 1860s – 1880s

We are still researching which vessel this figurehead came off , but his size would suggest a small coastal vessel like a baroque or schooner

Increasingly harder to find figureheads of this size and quality

Exceptionally carved face with a fine beard, he sits on a traditional folded base with scrolls. When he was first carved he would of had an extended right arm , it would of been removable for when the vessel was at sea , sadly lost many years ago

Carved from one piece of solid pine

Good restored condition
