Early 19th Cent. Gentleman’s Pocket Compass

Unsigned but exquisite.

Blue japanned compass needle engraved N S and fine paper compass card, set inside teak case and topped with a brass ring.

The cover features a brass closure, and two brass hinges. The index pointer shows a fleur-de-lis instead of an “N” for North.

Small brass push button locks the needle in place for carrying the course to the chart.

Very rare to find one in this overall excellent working condition.
