A superb and rare RNLI fisherman’s aneroid barometer

A late Victorian steel cased barometer made by highly regarded maker, Negretti & Zambra of London 1850-1900

As early as 1864, Negretti & Zambra were advertising “The Fisherman’s & Life Boat Station Barometer”, their price list states, “as made by Negretti & Zambra especially for the Board of Trade and Royal Lifeboat Institution, to be fixed at all the principal sea ports, fishing and lifeboat stations”.

The serial number on the porcelain dial is 12334, brass bezel surround and bevelled glass

Very hard to find these barometers and especially in such good condition

At some point it has been mounted on a wooden back plate, and now ready to hang in your home or office
