A Model of HMS Vega, Royal Navy Destroyer

Detailed 1/16 scale waterline model of the V Class destroyer HMS Vega by L Kirby,  interwar pennant number D52

Built in 1917 for the War Programme

HMS Vega was damaged in 1918 whilst serving with the Fleet. During 1921 she was part of the 6th Destroyer Flotilla, Atlantic Fleet and later was put in Reserve

The model details the aerial mast and rigging over detailed decks with for and aft gun turrets, torpedo tubes and wire gunwales, grey hull to waterline with black beneath, on a green waterline base with mooring buoys

In a glazed case with plaque ‘HMS Vega 1090 Tonnes V & W Class destroyer built Doxford 1917 Speed 34 Knots’
