HMS Caesar 1896 Bronze Tompion – Majestic Class Battleship
Unofficial HMS battleship 12in tompion
Cast bronze with a Right facing profile of Caesar , the motto is inscribed over head with Aut Caesar Aut Nullus – Caesar or Nothing.
Framed in a rope boarder and now mounted in a circuit board with suspension hook.
HMS Caesar : One of nine Majestic class battleships ordered as a result of the Naval Scare – French naval expansion – of 1893.
HMS Caesar and her sisters were fine looking vessels and represented the acme of the late Victorian Royal Navy.
She was sent to the Mediterranean after a short spell with the Channel Fleet. HMS Caesar remained in Malta until 1903 when she came home for a refit. She was sold for scrapping in 1921.
Superb Royal Navy collectable.
