Late 19th C Ships Medicine Cabinet – S.Y Marcella
Built in 1887 at Cowes by W. White & Sons , Registered in Southampton 1908, Steam Yacht Marcella was owned by T M Lockharte
S Y Marcella was used a cruiser by her owner, until she was acquired by the Government as a hired yacht, armed boarding steamer.
She was in service from 1915 , but was sunk in 1916 in a collision off the Downs.
The ships medicine cabinet would of been removed in 1915 , when she became a hired yacht in WW1
The cabinet has a variety of twelve remaining bottles and the ships name is engraved into a brass plaque on the lid of the box.
The box has carrying handles and a drawer that slides out from underneath the main body.
In good condition , a great marine antique collectable or gift.
