MV Shemara is a 65 metre superyacht so beloved by the notorious Lord & Lady Docker in the 1950s & 60s. She was built by Thorneycroft in Southampton and launched in 1938. Shemara became famous in the 1950-60s as a party palace for the very lavish and social Dockers. The gracelessly gaudy pair entertained the nation , through the tabloid newspapers of the day , with a succession of fancy cars, mink coats and champagne receptions on board the yacht. In 1965 Shemara was sold for £290,000 to reclusive property tycoon Henry Hyams, who left her sitting in Lowestoft for twenty years and according to crew rumours, he did not use her.
