A section of a mast off the HMY Victoria and Albert , with engraved plaque

The mast has the lightning conductor copper strip still inlaid down the side.

This is a superb piece of Monarchy and Maritime history,  left in original condition that it was purchased in, the aged splitting down the side of the mast section has been there for several years and shows no signs of developing further.

The yacht was designed by the Chief Constructor of the Royal Navy Sir William White, launched in 1899 and ready for service in 1901.

HMY Victoria and Albert served 4 sovereigns ; King George V, King Edward VIII and King George VI, and took part in two fleet reviews , in 1935 and the Coronation Review of the Fleet, 1937.

She served as a depot ship during the Second World War, as an accommodation ship to HMS Excellent. Decommissioned as royal yacht in 1939, and was broken up in 1954.
