This bell is reputed to of come from the German Empire Light Cruiser SMS Stuttgart

Built Imperial Dockyard in Danzig in 1905, launched in September 1906, commissioned in 1908

Reputed by the family and professional valuers

SMS Stuttgart was assigned to the IV Scouting Group during the Battle of Jutland on 31 May – 1 June 1916

SMS Stuttgart survived the war, and was stricken from the naval register on 5 November 1919. She was surrendered to the United Kingdom on 20 July 1920, as the war prize “S” and subsequently broken up for scrap

The bell has no engravings, though has been ornately mounted to show off the bell as a prize possession
