HMS Emperor of India – WWI

An Iron Duke class battleship. Originally to have been Delhi, but was renamed before completion in honour of King George V, who was the Emperor of India.

Built Vickers shipyard.

Commissioned in 1914 with her sister ship Hms Benbow into the Royal Navy’s Grand Fleet under Admiral John Jellicoe.

A colourful career during WWI and post war in the Russian Civil War.

Broken up in 1932.
