The original HMS Rocket brass cut out that was displayed in the wardroom bar of the destroyer

HMS Rocket  was an R-class destroyer. Built by Scotts Shipbuilding and Engineering Company in Greenock, Scotland

She saw service during Second World War. HMS Rocket encountered German torpedo boats in the English Channel in October 1943, an action in which HMS Charybdis and HMS Limbourne were lost

After the war, HMS Rocket was converted into a Type 15 fast anti-submarine frigate, with the new pennant number F191

She was finally scrapped at Dalmuir in March 1967

Superb collectable item , this was part of the infamous Ferrers Walker collection

The late Mr. Ferrers Walker had loaned Portsmouth museum his whole collection where unfortunately it remained in the museums storage rooms, unseen by the public
