HMS Thunderer was an Orion Class Dreadnought Battleship

Built Thames Ironworks and Shipbuilding Company , Poplar London

Unofficial , as this badge pre dates the Admiralty standardisation of Royal Navy badges in 1919

HMS Thunderer spent the bulk of her career assigned to the Home and Grand Fleets

She participated in the Battle of Jutland and the inconclusive Action of 19th August. During WW1 , HMS Thunderer routinely patrolled and joined training in the North Sea

In 1921 she was converted into a training ship for naval cadets until she was sold for scrap in 1926. Whilst being towed to the scrapyard HMS Thunderer ran aground, she was re floated and then broken up.
