HMS Repulse was a Renown Class Battlecruiser
Built at Clydebank , Scotland
Unofficial as the badge pre dates the standardisation of all Royal Navy badges that came into effect in 1919 . After 1919 the badges and tampions were standardised and all the same pattern, prior to this a ship could have a variety of different badges at any one time
She joined the Grand Fleet and operated in the North Sea for the remainder of World War 1
While returning to Singapore in 1941 , HMS Repulse and HMS Prince of Wales were attacked by Japanese high level bombers and torpedo planes. HMS Repulse was moderately damaged by bombs and later hit by several torpedos. She sank rapidly , followed less than an hour later by HMS Prince of Wales
This badge was removed around 1919 and was not present when she sank
