J L Coombes 3 Ring Sextant once belonging to Cyril B Hampshire RN 

Original brass 3 ring sextant in its own box with the makers initial engraved on the cartouche

Once belonging to Cyril B Hampshire who was a Royal Navy midshipman in 1890 and made Lieutenant in 1897

His name is engraved on the sextant and the 6in radius is engraved with the makers name

The 3 ring sextant was last calibrated by Hughes & Sons in 1963

The serial number is 4205 and also engraved on the radius

A photocopy of Cyril B Hampshire service list is included as is a loose suppliers label , George Lee & Son Est 1847 , Southsea where the sextant was potentially first purchased
