About Us
Marine Obsessives
Based in Devon in the south west of the UK, we are dedicated to honouring the exceptional workmanship of the nautical designers of yesteryears by reclaiming, restoring and remaking vintage lighting, porthole mirrors and marine objects and nautical antiques.
Every Trinity Marine item comes with its own historical story and was originally designed, crafted and created with a blank cheque book for that particular ship, activity or location.
Each piece was designed with 100% function and everlasting performance front-of-mind and, for us, therein lies the optimal quality, the beauty and the sculptural prowess of that item. We honour all of that in our daily graft.
When the vessels are retired and therefore broken down, we collect all of the interesting artefacts and bring them to our Devon yard and workshop.
Then, through our experienced curation, craftsmanship and care, we clean, rebuild, innovate, enhance and elevate each vintage piece, thoughtfully breathing a new, sustainable, style-driven, practical purpose, and contemporary life, into it.
Over time, the number of remaining ships and sources for these original items is naturally declining. Therefore, we are extending our ‘Trinity way’, salvaging additional metals from the ships we are breaking.
Then we’re applying our in-built creativity and innovation, painstakingly remaking several of our maritime lights and popular pieces anew, honouring the design and quality of the originals, whilst sustainably preserving the substance and authenticity for ever more.
