The Trinity Way
In the 1990s, our Founder Rodger Jameson created what would become Trinity Marine and ‘The Trinity Way’, the company’s specialism and investment in the fully breaking and transportation of the full contents of major ships, and all of their vintage and unique top quality kit.
For the next decade, Roger, and now his son Mark, concentrated on salvaging and bringing back countless containers of furniture, fixtures and fittings, all built to last a lifetime and beyond, from beautiful ocean liners and passenger ships, as well as from the ongoing breaking of military vessels and supertankers. As a result, Trinity Marine became the world’s largest and most extensive preservers and purveyors of maritime objects of resilience and beauty – a position the company proudly retains today.
Sadly, Roger passed away in 2014, and his son Mark, took over and continued to build the business, specialising in several areas of nautical antiques and collectables, carrying large stocks of each at all times, selling to enthusiasts, collectors, businesses and museums alike, throughout the world.
In the last decade, Mark has been joined by his sister Lisa, and together they lead the Trinity team, all of whom are dedicated to honouring the exceptional workmanship of the nautical designers of yesteryears by reclaiming, restoring, and reworking stunning maritime objects. Everyone who is part of today’s Trinity family is experienced and has a ‘healthy’ obsession with the detail, the quality, the history, the stories and the soul of every piece.
With the ships that are left, Trinity collects each individual item, along with the stories of its past. Then, through their experienced curation, craftsmanship and care, the team cleans, rebuilds, innovates, enhances and elevates each piece, thoughtfully breathing a new, sustainable, style-driven, practical purpose, and contemporary life, into it.
With the ongoing enthusiasm for reclaimed, vintage, industrial-style lighting, Trinity Marine has an extensive range of exceptional quality antique, ceiling, table, wall, bulkhead, hanging and floor lights, from ships’ saloons, passage-ways, cargo-holds and charthouses – all of which they can supply in high volumes for commercial or home interiors projects. The company continues to source and find nautical, naval and diving antiques and collectables alongside ocean liner and military ship quality salvage pieces for everyday use.
In recent years, Trinity Marine has supplied and supported indoor and outdoor vintage lighting, furniture and fixtures and fittings for major commercial developments across the UK, and further afield, including restaurants, bars, cafes, hotels, pubs, boutiques, departments stores, museums, marinas and even theme-parks.
The company continues to provide award-winning interior designers and consultancies of all sizes with unique and bespoke pieces in which-ever manner and fit-out they require for their particular project or development.
Various film and TV sets and studios have utilised Trinity’s multi-purpose pieces including King Kong, Titanic and Star Wars. Now the world’s leading preservers and purveyors of maritime objects of resilience and beauty, as well as the globe’s largest volume trader of these stunning items, Trinity Marine can ship worldwide and provide bespoke installation support and advice, all from its Devon yard and warehouse.
Extending The Trinity Way
As time moves on, the original ships available for salvaging are declining steeply, yet the demand for key pieces remains ever-strong or grows. Therefore, the team is dedicated to extending the ‘Trinity way’ and is actively salvaging additional key metals from the ships they are breaking.
Coming full circle from the original Roger Jameson ‘scrappie’ days, as well as honouring the restoration and recycling processes that he started, the experienced Trinity Marine team members are now applying their in-built creativity and innovation, painstakingly redesigning and remaking several of the maritime lights and popular pieces anew, honouring the design and quality of the originals, whilst sustainably preserving the substance and authenticity for ever more.
