An original Robinson & Co. Ltd., Liverpool & Glasgow ship’s engine revolution telegraph, mounted on its original bronze pedestal. This substantial bridge instrument features a large brass-faced dial graduated from 0–200 RPM, with the maker’s name prominently engraved to the centre. The revolving control ring is marked “Diminuez” and “Augmentez” (Decrease/Increase), while the reverse carries French operating instructions, indicating it was supplied for use aboard a French-speaking vessel.
Used to communicate and control engine revolutions from the bridge to the engine room, it represents an important piece of marine engineering history. With its heavy bronze construction, rich original patina and impressive presence, this is a rare and highly decorative maritime antique, ideal for collectors, museums, yacht clubs or nautical-themed interiors.
