The screen badge, the main badge, that adorned the WW2 HMS Adamant. Brightly coloured yet with age and patina, mounted on its teak board. Cast in alloy as some were in the latter part of WW2.
HMS Adamant (A164) was a Royal Navy submarine depot ship completed in 1942. She served in the Eastern Fleet from 1943‑45 with the 4th Submarine Flotilla (in Colombo/Trincomalee), then moved with the flotilla to Fremantle, Australia. After WWII she returned to England in 1948, acting as flagship of the Reserve Fleet, then supported submarine squadrons at Rothesay, Faslane and Devonport. She was placed for disposal in 1966 and broken up in 1970.
