This original cast bronze builder’s plaque is from Hyundai Heavy Industries Co., Ltd., Ulsan Shipyard, South Korea, and records a vessel completed in December 1985. Founded in 1972, Hyundai Heavy Industries quickly became one of the world’s largest and most influential shipbuilders, with its Ulsan yard producing tankers, bulk carriers, container ships, offshore vessels and specialised commercial ships for operators around the globe. By the mid-1980s, Hyundai had established an international reputation for advanced shipbuilding technology, large-scale production and high-quality engineering.
