A beautiful wardroom piece, with vibrant colours, created, probably during Her re-fit in 19563, using one of Her large boat badges and mounted to commemorate Her duties around the Eastern Mediterranean when Egypt seized the Suez.
HMS Daring (D05) was the lead ship of the Royal Navy’s Daring-class destroyers, ordered during the final stages of World War II and completed in 1952. Designed as an advanced gun destroyer, she featured improved anti-aircraft capabilities and modern fire-control systems. HMS Daring served during the early Cold War, including deployments to the Mediterranean and Far East, reflecting Britain’s global naval commitments. She became a symbol of post-war naval modernization. The ship was decommissioned in 1968 and later scrapped in 1971, marking the end of her service after nearly two decades in the Royal Navy.
