Chargeurs Réunis was a French shipping company founded in 1872, initially operating mail and passenger routes between France, Africa, and South America. It expanded rapidly during the late 19th and early 20th centuries, becoming a key player in colonial trade and migration. The company suffered heavy losses during both World Wars but rebuilt and modernised its fleet afterward. In the postwar era, it shifted toward cargo and container transport as passenger travel declined. Facing increasing competition and industry consolidation, Chargeurs Réunis was gradually absorbed into larger maritime groups and ceased independent operations in the late 20th century.
