An authentic pair of standard diving overshoes, dating from the early to mid-20th century. Constructed with heavy leather uppers, cast brass toe caps and substantial lead-weighted soles, these specialised overshoes were worn over a diver’s boots as part of a traditional hard-hat diving suit. Their considerable weight provided the stability required for underwater walking while wearing a copper diving helmet and full canvas diving dress.
