Royal Navy Hoop Antenna by Marconi. We have salvaged this sculptural striking antenna from Royal Navy ships. Type 354N in raised lettering on the base , along with the makers name Marconi, serial number 3588 and Made in England.
A Radio direction finder aerial. Direction Finding equipment consists of two parts. The specialised antenna system and the instrument on the bridge of a ship that makes use of the signals that the antenna gathers. This is a typical ‘cross-hoop’ antenna usually known as a Bellini-Tosi Loop.
