This substantial original cast bronze builder’s plaque is from Ishikawajima-Harima Heavy Industries (IHI), one of Japan’s most historic and influential shipbuilding and engineering companies. Formed in 1960 through the merger of Ishikawajima Heavy Industries and Harima Shipbuilding & Engineering, IHI built a wide range of commercial ships, tankers, naval vessels and offshore structures before later becoming today’s IHI Corporation.
Featuring the distinctive IHI logo and the inscription “Ishikawajima-Harima Heavy Industries,” this substantial cast bronze plaque would have been mounted aboard a vessel or displayed within the shipyard. It represents an authentic piece of Japanese maritime and industrial history, reflecting the craftsmanship and heritage of one of the world’s leading heavy engineering companies. With its impressive size, solid bronze construction and naturally aged patina, it is an excellent collector’s piece for enthusiasts of shipbuilding, maritime history and industrial memorabilia.
