Neriede was a modified Black Swan-class sloop built at Chatham Dockyard, launched in 1944 and commissioned into the Royal Navy in 1946, after the end of the Second World War. Although she saw no wartime combat, she served on peacetime duties in Home, South Atlantic, East African and Mediterranean waters, including a deployment as the Falkland Islands guardship in 1953. Renumbered F64 in 1948, HMS Nereide was decommissioned in the late 1950s and sold for scrapping in 1958.
