HMS Duncan was a D-class destroyer leader , built Portsmouth Dockyard

HMS Duncan was assigned to the Mediterranean Fleet before she was transferred to the China Station in early 1935 where she remained until mid-1939. HMS Duncan returned to the Mediterranean Fleet just after World War II began in September 1939

She led a colourful career serving in many campaigns ; Persian Gulf , Red Sea, Shanghai , Gibraltar and the Western Approaches to name but a few

In April 1945 when she was assigned to the Greenock Coastal Escort Pool, HMS Duncan was broken up in 1949
